Energy techniques to ensure a low mood does not spoil your day or your health

Learning to shift your energetic vibration is a vital skill not only for energy healers but also for those who are especially sensitive. I mean anyone who tends to pick up other people’s moods, often the heavy or unusual ones. That includes me.
For as long as I can remember, I have explained to others why someone does not resonate with me. I would say they look odd, sound odd, that their vibe feels off, or even that they feel like static. I did not know how or why. I was younger then, yet I still use these words when I describe someone.
Why share this? Because I know from experience how easy it is to get tangled in other people’s energy and sometimes in your own. You know what I mean. I am referring to those moments when something unpleasant happens and you can literally feel your energy drop.
Perhaps you are deeply worried and your thoughts buzz like a hive of bees. Or you feel sad for no clear reason. Perhaps you feel irritable and find yourself clashing with family or friends more than usual. In short, you do not feel happy, energised, or fully alive.
These moods affect our energy, and our energy in turn shapes our physical, emotional, and mental health.
Many people know and use simple practices to lift their energy and raise its vibration.
Here are several suggestions:
- Be aware of your body. Ask yourself what you feel in your body right now. Remember to check in often through the day, knowing your body is wise and full of information that can only support you.
- Notice the space between thoughts and place your attention there. Let your awareness anchor in that quiet. Allow it to widen. As you do, breathe slowly and deeply.
- Remember that you are far more than your thoughts and emotions. You are not at their mercy and you have the power to change them. Tell yourself, "I have the power to change my thoughts, my moods, and my feelings."
- Hold the intention to shift your energy and your mood whenever needed. A clear positive intention is remarkably powerful. It can transform your energy field in a moment.
- Say, "I am happy," or "I am calm," or "I can handle my challenges," or any statement you wish to make your truth. Speak your affirmations as many times as you need and, most importantly, say them with conviction. Your energy will respond to your positive words.
- Keep breathing deeply. Let your body reflect the energetic, emotional, and mental shifts that are taking place. If your shoulders are tight, if you are frowning, or if you are not standing upright, invite your body to release these patterns and adopt a healthier, more comfortable posture. Keep breathing deeply as your body settles into these new positions.
- Recognise the strength within you that made this energetic shift possible. Offer thanks to a Higher Power, Higher Intelligence, God, or whatever name resonates for you if you feel called to do so. Then sail into the rest of your day knowing that you have not only risen above a low mood. You have also expanded your subtle energy, your light body.
- Smile even when you do not feel like it. Especially then. Put on a broad, even artificial smile and keep it for a while. At first you may feel odd and unnatural. After a time you may be surprised by how much better you feel. Your smile will become genuine and it will influence your thoughts and emotions. This can be very effective when you feel deeply downcast.
- Think of everything you are grateful for in your life. Keep reflecting on it until your mood shifts and your energy follows. This is exceptionally powerful for increasing your energy, strengthening the light body, and for aligning with Source.
- Do a good deed. If brightening your own mood feels impossible, lift someone else’s. This is an excellent way to set stuck energy in motion.
- Be compassionate with yourself. Forgive yourself. Accept and love yourself exactly as you are in this moment. This is essential for opening to the flow of universal energy that supports, steadies, and nourishes us.
Remember that at every moment of your life and in every situation you can choose how to respond. You can allow a situation or a feeling to weigh you down even more. Or you can choose to use that situation or emotion to learn and to move forward.
Each time you decide not to let something negative pull you under, each time you choose to rise above it energetically, you progress at once.
